How to Make a Wireless Speaker Cube

Speaker CubeThis wireless speaker cube was a snap to make using the Rockler Wireless Speaker Kit.  The kit includes all the electronics you’ll need to create a speaker cube.  The speaker includes a battery that lasts approx. 6 hours, and connects via Bluetooth.  The kit also includes a USB charger cable.  I chose a simple cube design, but so many options are open to this design.  To attach the back control panel with the front panel there is a 6″ speaker wire.

If you make one of these be sure to post a picture of it over on the WoodLogger Facebook Page.  I’d love to see how yours turns out.

Material List

(1) 2″ x 4″ x 4′ (I used pine for mine, but any material type would work well)

Cut List

(2) 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″ x 2 3/4″

Milling & Assembly

Speaker Cube Rough Cuts To get started on making my speaker cube.  I used a piece of scrap 2×4 pine and cut it in to 2 equal lengths.  I cut the lengths to a manageable length for now.  Later I will cut that these down so that I have a perfect cube that is 2-3/4″ all around.

Rough Cuts Next, I cut my boards to have an equal length on all sides of 2-3/4″ in length.
Rough Cuts Next I drilled a hole through the center of the boards with a 1 7/8″ Forstner Bit.  A spade bit would have worked well too.
